DARWIN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT PASSENGER TERMINAL EXPANSION
DRAFT VERSION MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PLAN

Darwin International Airport has prepared a draft version Major Development Plan (MDP) covering a proposed expansion of the airport’s terminal, the first major capital investment since the terminal was built 16 years ago.
The new building, to the east of the current terminal, will increase floor space by about 65 per cent, improve passenger facilities and operational efficiency, and cater for the airport’s projected growth to 2015.
Under the Federal Airports Act 1996, the public has 60 business days in which to submit comments on the draft MDP. Comments are provided to the Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government and are taken into account when considering whether to approve the MDP. Comments must be received no later than Friday, 17th October 2008.
Darwin International Airport welcomes any public feedback and is happy to provide additional information if required.
