Australia's Powder Restrictions

From 30 June 2018, people travelling internationally will notice some changes to how they are screened in Australia. Passengers will be required to present all powders in their carry-on baggage separately for screening. There will be quantity restrictions on some types of powders but most common powders remain unrestricted. Click here for further information and Check the TravelSECURE website before you travel.

Pick Up & Drop Off

Darwin International Airport has designated areas to pick up and drop off passengers.

An express lane for a quick drop off is available close to the front of the terminal. A two-minute time limit applies in this lane and drivers must remain with their vehicles at all times.

If you’re staying a little longer, the Short Stay Car Park provides 15 minutes FREE parking. Just collect a ticket when entering the car park and if you leave within 15 minutes, there will be no charge.

How do I get my 15 minutes free?

Take a ticket from the car park entry station, and exit within 15 minutes by putting the same ticket into the exit station. There is no need to validate your ticket at a Pay Station in the terminal if you exit within 15 minutes.

If you stay over 15 minutes, you will need to make a payment for your parking at a pay station or by credit card at the exit station.
